New York/UN Web TV

The Executive Board of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS will meet from 2–5 June in New York. The UNFPA segment, held over three days, will begin on 3 June with a statement from Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem.

The UNFPA segment will include a progress report on the Strategic Plan for 2022–2025 and a statistical and financial review for 2024. Country programme documents will also be presented for approval, among other matters.

The Executive Board provides intergovernmental support and supervision of the activities of UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS, in accordance with the policy guidance of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the United Nations Charter. The board ensures that UNDP, UNFPA and UNOPS remain responsive to the evolving needs of programme countries. It supports the work of UNFPA in delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

“We have seen what can be accomplished when we work together,” Dr. Kanem told the Executive Board at the annual session in 2024. “We’ve done it before, and we can do it again. UNFPA looks forward to your active partnership, support and guidance as we continue the journey forward – together.”
